Within the framework of the Jean Monnet Module “CoRiMaR” (Academic Coordinator Prof. Elisabetta Bergamini), the University of Udine (Italy) organizes the 16 th Summer School on
‘Consumer’s Rights and Market Regulation in the European Union’, in cooperation with a consortium of European universities, now including University of Essex (UK), De Montfort
University (UK), Universitatea de Vest din Timisoara (Romania), East Anglia University (UK), University of Rijeka (Croatia), University of Belgrade (Serbia) and University of Szeged (Hungary).
This year’s workshop will be devoted to ‘Digital transition, values and fundamental rights in the European Union’ and will address topics surrounding the issue of digital transition with a particular focus on its impact on the values and fundamental rights in the European Union. It will host invited speakers and two speakers to be selected through this call for abstracts.
The Organizers invite the submission of abstracts covering topics such as: the impact of national reforms concerning digital transition on the protection of European values; the potentials of digital transition to enhance economic opportunities for European citizens; the opportunities for companies created by the digital transition; the implementation of the objectives related to digital transition, promoted by Next Generation EU, in Member States; the digital divide and inequalities caused by the increasing use of digital technologies, both in connection with contracts and in connection with the access to public services; digital identity; the Declaration on European digitalrights and principles; the relationship between digitalization and climate neutrality; the digital transition and sustainable development.
Abstracts targeting topics not included in the above list, but linked nonetheless to the subject of the workshop, are however welcome.
Abstracts of up to 500 words should be submitted by 18 June 2023, 12.00 pm GMT at the e-mail address ip.europeanlaw.uniud@gmail.com, together with a short CV (One page maximum).
Submission of abstracts is open to all scholars interested, but post-graduate students, Ph.D. candidates and young researchers are particularly welcome to submit their proposals. The
Scientific Committee will select up to two abstracts to be presented during the workshop.
Selected participants will be notified by 30 June 2023.
The workshop will take place at the University of Udine, on 18 July 2023. Participation in the workshop is free and there is the possibility to participate online.
