This article focuses on the economic policies adopted at the supranational level in response to the Covid-19 emergency. It begins with a critique of the neoliberal point of view – especially of its strong focus on the market and competition – and then underlines how the European integration process has been reoriented since the 1970s. This article also briefly gives attention to the role played by the European Central Bank, which is pumping a lot of money in the financial market to sustain national economies.
